Author Guidelines

Please read the following before preparing your work:

  1. Submissions must be written in APA style using wording that is easy-to-understand by everyone working within the field of education, including new teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and staff. Writing, videos, or podcasts created with students are welcomed.
  2. All documents submitted should be something new to the field, and a maximum of 2,500 words (not including references), with videos/podcasts at a maximum of 20 minutes.
    • Research Briefs – qualitative and/or quantitative studies, including action research, summarized succinctly
    • Conceptual Articles – practical research-based strategies or methods
    • Trending Topics – presentation of a topic worthy of discussion that is affecting your work with potential research-based suggestions provided
    • Storytelling – personal narratives or experiences from the field with potential research-based suggestions provided
    • Book / Resource Reviews – Description of a book, website, podcast, or other material along with ways you have used the information. (It is not a critique.)
      • Podcasts / Videos – Any of the above can be accompanied by a professional quality podcast or video, or you can solely provide the information above through a podcast or video (with just a title and a short summary in writing).
  3. Multiple simultaneous submissions are not accepted.
  4. To abide by the double-blind peer review process, please remove author names from all text submitted and replace the names with the word author. For example, (Jollie, 2022) would be (Author, 2022). Replace titles of author's article(s), if mentioned, with "REMOVED FOR PEER REVIEW".
  5. Work submitted should not have been published elsewhere nor should it be under review through another venue.
  6. Please obtain permission to reprint tables or figures from another source before submitting and attach the permissions when submitting.
  7. Submit your work in a Word document, MP4 (video), or MP3 (podcast) format.
  8. Get an ORCID number through https://orcid.org for us to connect your article (if accepted) to your ORCID profile.
  9. If you are submitting research with human subjects, you must state in your title page if you followed the guidelines at your institution and if you:
    • Informed the participants about your study (the plan along with any potential benefits or risks).
    • Let participants know they can opt out of the study at any time (or not participate at all).
    • Provided participants with your contact information for questions.
    • Shared that participants confidentiality will be maintained.
    • Asked participants to use their work (i.e.; student work samples with names removed).
    • Had participants (or their parents/caregivers if under 18) sign a consent form that included the above information.

Once you are ready to submit your work:

  1. Provide a title page, separate from the article/work with names and contact information of all authors, along with the order of the authors.
